Lodging

  1. If visiting Wellington and Prince Edward County between June and September it is highly recommended that you make reservations before travelling. Wellington has a number of wonderful Bed and Breakfasts as well as an Inn. Check the Accommodations section of the website.
  2. This applies if you are camping as well, as camp parks are full most of the season without reservations.
  3. Also be aware that there are no chain hotels here in Prince Edward County.

Transportation

  1. Note: When travelling off of Highway 401, stop for gas at the nearest station or you could end up being stranded.
    • 401 West Bound exiting at Marysville Exit 566 - Hwy 49 there is a Sunoco Station south of the 401. (approximately 27 KM to Next Gas Station)
    • 401 East Bound exiting at Wooler Road Exit 522 – There are a couple of gas stations while heading Southbound, an Ultramar and Free Flow station the last before Picton (approximately 46 KM to Next Gas Station)
    • Travelling from Kingston on The Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33) there are a few stations before reaching the Glenora Ferry and your next gas station is in Picton. (from Ferry to Picton 7 KM)
    • Travelling Southbound on Hwy 62 there is a Petro Canada south of the Norris Whitney Bridge (Belleville Bridge).
  2. Glenora Ferry is a free ferry service as it is part of the highway system.

    Glenora Ferry Service

    Winter: 30-Minute Service – 6:00 a.m. to 1:1 5 a.m.
    Summer: Mid-May to September
    30-Minute Service – 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
    15-Minute Service – 10:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
    30-Minute Service – 7:30 p.m. to 1:15 a.m.
    Ferry Departs:
    Glenora on the hour and the half-hour
    Adolphustown at a quarter to and a quarter after the hour

    Two vessels operate from mid-May to Labour Day and during weekends from Labour Day to Thanksgiving.

Travelling within the County

  • There is NO Public Transportation
  • We do have taxi cab service out of Picton:

  • The LCBO is located at 153 Main Street, Wellington.
  • Wellington does not have a Tim Hortons or Starbucks – But we do have a couple great places to get Coffee.
  • Monday’s offer a limited selection for dining as most of our restaurants are closed on Mondays in June – September.

Pack your:

  • Golf Clubs – there is always time for nine at Wellington on the Lake Golf Course.
  • Swim Suit – check out the Wellington Beach with its boardwalk and great swimming (no cost).
  • Bicycle – check out the different routes for cycling.  
  • Fishing Pole – great fishing off of the docks at the Wellington Harbour. 
  • Also there is Boating, Kayaking, Horseback riding and Paintball!
  • Wellington Park is a great stop to let the kids play in the play area and have a picnic.
