Wellington… A HAVEN ON THE SHORE! A warm and welcoming village situated on the north shore of Lake Ontario, overlooking the largest freshwater sand dunes in the world at Sandbanks Provincial Park. With modern docking facilities, the main dock at the harbour is a designated telephone reporting landing site with Canada Border Services, for boaters arriving from the United States.
Wellington, located in the heart of Prince Edward County's exciting new wine industry, wears its history with pride. Main Street, known as the Loyalist Parkway, dates back to 1799 and once bustled with hotels, taverns and horse drawn carriages. From our community heritage museum, located in the only remaining Quaker Meeting House in Prince Edward County displaying our great heritage, to the fine old architecture including the Daniel Reynolds home, one of the oldest homes in Ontario, dating back to 1786, there is something of interest for everyone.
Our lakeside park & playground, the Wellington Rotary public beach and boardwalk, and the Millennium Trail for walkers and cyclists, are all close by the heart of the village. Stay at any of our fabulous B&B's, cottages, suites or inns – be catered to or self-cater, the choice is yours. Enjoy any of our family and fine dining restaurants, day spas and boutiques. Check out the studios and galleries of our talented artists. Test your abilities with a round of golf, kayaking, a fishing charter, the County Marathon, or come and celebrate Pumpkinfest or any of the other festivals and celebrations in The County throughout the year. And of course within a 10 minute drive you can be sipping wine at one of the many area wineries. Our village provides all the comforts of home with a bank, post office, grocery and convenience store, library (free WIFI), LCBO, flower shop and greenhouse, pharmacy, hardware store, laundromat and churches.
Wellington… a great place to live.
A wonderful place to visit.
